    In the Whole Birth
® Yoga and Support classes so many wonderful kinds of connections are made. Women deepen their connection to their own bodies, finding more comfort while they experience the rapid and unfamiliar changes of pregnancy. They learn to trust the body's innate wisdom for birth. Women connect with their hearts and minds as they settle into the calm stillness of the meditative practice. By slowing down and paying attention, women also connect with their growing baby to form a loving bond even before birth. And importantly, women connect with each other, in a rare atmosphere of trust and camaraderie where they can speak freely about issues that non-pregnant friends and family don't easily relate to. Ultimately, women come to know themselves as a part of something greater, as the spiritual nature of pregnancy connects them deeper into the circle of life.

Postpartum Depression - Counseling Resources
  • Jennifer Masino, PsyD (Clinical Psychology)
Jennifer J. Sillence Masino, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist specializing in Adult Clinical Psychology. She has a special interest in counseling mothers dealing with postpartum depression and anxiety issues. Jennifer is also experienced in counseling moms who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or loss of an infant or young child. She is one of the only counselors in this area I've found who is willing, knowledgeable and compassionate enough to work with a mom who has lost a child after birth. In addition to her clinical experience, Jennifer is also a mom to two young children - bringing an even deeper understanding of the ups and downs of life with small children.

She completed an APA approved predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at Wilford Hall Medical Center Lackland AFB, Texas. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, where she researched cross-cultural issues in psychology. She has doctor of psychology and master's degrees in both psychology and social work. Her graduate work in Social Work emphasized the affect of gender, race, cultural and other environmental factors on patient issues. She earned her bachelor of science in psychology from Florida State University. She was a Clinical Psychologist on Active Duty with the United States Air Force for over 8 years, seeing a variety of issues including crisis intervention, trauma, grief, occupational problems, depression, and anxiety. She sees adults aged 17 and above. (FL Lic.# PY6559)
